Lance Mok

Composer/ Pianist

Lance Mok is a Hong Kong-born pianist and composer based in London. His versatile performance career has brought him around the UK, continental Europe, the USA, and East Asia. His performances have been broadcast by RTHK and TVB, and were used in films and documentaries. Lance’s recent successes in composition include premieres of his song cycle Transmigration: 7 Songs of Remembrance. Its orchestral version was premiered at the renowned St John’s Smith Square last year. His ongoing project to set Shakespeare’s complete sonnets into song cycles was reported by RTHK’s TV programme The Works in 2020. Items from the project have been performed around the UK. 

 

Lance obtained his Master of Music degree in 2018 from the Royal College of Music. His studies in London were fully sponsored by the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme after he graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a first.

 

鋼琴家作曲家莫仲堯生於香港,現居倫敦。他的演奏足跡遍及英美歐亞,又曾為電影及紀錄片灌錄配樂,香港電台及無綫電視亦曾播放其演出。莫氏的近期作品包括粵語聯篇歌曲《渡:感懷七闋》,2022年於倫敦首演後即獲委約編寫管弦樂版本,同年於著名的史密斯廣場聖約瀚堂首演。他另一項大型創作是要為莎士比亞全套十四行詩譜曲,香港電台《藝坊星期天》於2020年為此專訪,其中不少曲目已在英國各地上演。

 

莫氏以一級榮譽畢業於香港中文大學音樂系,及後獲香港卓越獎學金計劃支助全額學費赴倫敦深造,並於2018年獲英國皇家音樂學院頒授音樂碩士學位。
